Welcome to the Houston Texans Season Opener Recap!
The Houston Texans kicked off their season with an exciting win against the Colts in Indianapolis, with a final score of 29-27. Quarterback CJ Stroud had an impressive performance, throwing for 234 yards and two touchdowns, both of which were caught by Stefon Diggs. The Texans also saw new running back Joe Mixon scoring his first touchdown as a Texan.

First Quarter
The Texans started off strong with a field goal on their opening drive, thanks to a clutch play by CJ Stroud. However, the Colts quickly answered back with a 60-yard touchdown pass from QB Anthony Richardson to Alec Pierce, giving them a 7-3 lead.
Second Quarter
In the second quarter, Stroud connected with Collins for a big gain, setting up a scoring opportunity for the Texans. Stroud then found Stefon Diggs in the end zone for a touchdown, putting the Texans ahead 12-7 after a failed two-point conversion.
Third Quarter
The Texans added a field goal to extend their lead to 15-7, but the Colts blocked a punt and capitalized on the turnover with a touchdown run by Jonathan Taylor. Despite a failed two-point conversion, the Colts cut the lead to 15-13.
Fourth Quarter
Joe Mixon made a splash in his Texans debut with a touchdown run, extending Houston’s lead. The Colts responded with a touchdown of their own, making it a close game at 22-20. But the Texans’ offense stayed strong, with Stroud connecting with Diggs for their second touchdown of the game to secure the win.
