Beaumont Man Wins $1 Million Lottery Prize at Buzzy Bee Gas Station

One lucky Beaumont man is now $1 million richer after purchasing a winning lottery ticket at Buzzy Bee gas station near downtown and is now giving back.

“It was just a $20 ticket,” said the winner, who wishes to remain anonymous.

He casually walked into the gas station on MLK Parkway to grab his favorite drink and decided to try his luck with a lottery ticket. Little did he know, he would walk away as a millionaire.

“I couldn’t believe it. I had to get my phone out and scan the ticket and it came up, I won a million,” he excitedly shared.

After playing the lottery for 30 years, the winner expressed how this win was unprecedented for him.

“I sat in my chair all night, couldn’t sleep with my ticket in my hand. Then, at 8:00 in the morning, I was at the lottery claim center in Beaumont. About 30 minutes later, I walked out with a check,” he recounted.

The 66-year-old retired Navy veteran expects to pocket around $630,000 after taxes. His plan is to invest most of this unexpected windfall.

“Tomorrow, I’m investing $500,000 in stocks and bonds and keeping the rest,” he revealed.

In a heartwarming gesture, he also decided to share his luck with the store clerk who sold him the winning ticket.

“When I first started buying tickets, I promised myself that if I ever won big, I would share some of the winnings with the clerk who sold me the ticket,” he mentioned.

For his fellow lottery players, he shared a message of hope and perseverance.

“To all the players out there, just keep trying. It’s all about luck and buying at the right time,” he encouraged.
