Tragedy Strikes in Northwest Houston as Patrol Car Hits Pedestrian
On a fateful evening in northwest Houston, a woman’s life hung in the balance after she was struck by a patrol car while crossing the street with her three children. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Antoine Street near Pinemont Drive, leaving the victim critically injured and fighting for survival.
The patrol car, carrying two officers – a male passenger and a female driver – along with a suspect, was en route to transport the suspect to jail when tragedy struck. Witnesses recounted that the woman, accompanied by her children, had just disembarked from a bus and was crossing the road without using a designated crosswalk. It was during this moment that she dropped something, leading to the fatal collision when she stooped down to retrieve it.
Despite the prompt administration of first aid by the officers on the scene, the woman’s condition remained critical as she was rushed to a nearby hospital. Her fate hangs in uncertainty, with the victim identified as a woman in her mid-30s or early-40s, with her children ranging from 10 to 16 years old.
Fortunately, the officers and the suspect emerged unscathed from the crash, with the suspect later being transported to jail in a separate unit.
