BUCHAREST – Romanian authorities took action on Saturday by towing away a fleet of luxury vehicles from the home of the controversial social media personality Andrew Tate. This move came days after Tate was placed under house arrest following new human trafficking allegations.

Andrew Tate, 37, and his brother Tristan Tate, 36, former kickboxers and dual British-U.S. citizens with a large following on social media, are facing trial in Romania along with two women. The brothers were charged with human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to exploit women, with Andrew Tate also facing a rape charge in the same case.

The impounded luxury vehicles, including a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, McLaren, and a classic red Lada, were taken from their home near the capital. The seizure occurred after Romania’s anti-organized crime agency, DIICOT, raided several homes and detained six individuals, including the Tate brothers. Cash, laptops, and data storage drives were also confiscated during the operation.

Georgiana Popa, one of the Tate brothers’ lawyers, contested the seizures as she addressed reporters outside their home, stating that the confiscation of the vehicles was “legal, but unfounded.”

Despite the allegations, the brothers maintain their innocence. Andrew Tate was placed under house arrest while Tristan Tate is under judicial control. The spokesperson for the brothers, Mateea Petrescu, reiterated their denial of all charges and their commitment to proving their innocence.

The ongoing investigation by DIICOT involves multiple charges related to human trafficking, money laundering, and exploitation of minors. The agency alleges that the defendants used coercive methods to exploit vulnerable victims and engage in criminal activities generating millions of dollars.

Andrew Tate, known for his controversial views and social media presence, has accused prosecutors of having no evidence against him and claiming a political conspiracy against him. Previously banned from several social media platforms, Tate has faced scrutiny for his misogynistic views and hate speech.

Authorities have previously seized assets belonging to the Tate brothers and are pursuing legal action against them. The court overturned a decision that allowed the brothers to leave Romania while awaiting trial, ensuring that they remain in the country during legal proceedings.

The legal battle continues as the Tate brothers face serious charges in Romania, with the outcome of the trial yet to be determined.
