Exciting Wins for Team USA in Paralympics Dressage and Swimming

The United States equestrian team won three more medals in Paralympics dressage on Saturday. Fiona Howard and Rebecca Hart clinched their third gold medals of the Paris Games.

Paralympic debutant Fiona Howard won the Grade II individual freestyle and veteran Rebecca Hart won in Grade III. Teammate Kate Shoemaker claimed bronze in Grade IV. Riders compete in five grades, with Grade I for the most severely impaired riders.

Howard and Hart had previously won individual golds earlier in the week and also helped the U.S. win the team event on Friday.

Long may it continue

American swimmer Jessica Long extended her Paralympics medal collection to 31 with gold in the S8 100-meter butterfly. She finished in 1 minute, 10.59 seconds, one second ahead of Viktoriia Ishchiulova, with Britain’s Alice Tai coming in third.

In addition to her butterfly win, Long also secured victory in the women’s 400 freestyle earlier in the week. Long, who began her Paralympic career at the age of 12, is a double amputee and has been a dominant force in the pool since winning three golds at the 2004 Athens Games.

The success of Team USA in both equestrian and swimming at the Paralympic Games in Paris has been impressive, with athletes like Fiona Howard, Rebecca Hart, and Jessica Long showcasing their incredible talent and determination on the international stage.
