The Heartbreaking Case of Stolen Horses in Katy, Texas

Lauren St. Hilaire’s dream of owning her own horses finally came true after 20 years when she adopted two horses, El and Bella, from the barn where she grew up. She wanted them to spend their retirement by her side. Silo, the first horse she ever bought, completed her herd of beloved animals.

These horses were not just animals to St. Hilaire; they were her safe place, the source of joy and happiness in her life. However, her world came crashing down when she discovered that Bella, El, and Silo were missing from their property on Katy Hockley Cut Off Road near Highway 99.

St. Hilaire suspects foul play and believes that the perpetrators drugged her horses to make them easier to steal. Since the incident, she has been tirelessly working with organizations like Stolen Horse International, also known as NetPosse, to spread the word and increase the chances of finding her precious horses.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating the case, and game wardens, auctions, and kill pens have been put on alert. St. Hilaire’s social media posts and flyers have garnered significant attention and support from the community.

Descriptions of the stolen horses are as follows:

El

El is a 22-year-old dark bay mare with distinct markings and a hematoma on her right hip.

Bella

Bella is a 12-year-old bay mare with a front right club foot and therapeutic shoes.

Silo

Silo is a 10-year-old sorrel with unique markings and was last seen wearing a light blue/grayish halter.

If you have any information about the stolen horses or their whereabouts, please contact Lauren St. Hilaire at 281-413-2543 or email lnsthilaire@gmail.com.

Theft of horses is more common than one might think, and it is crucial to raise awareness and work together to combat such crimes. Let’s help bring Bella, El, and Silo back home where they belong.
