Penalties continue to plague and stall the Texans drives. In their recent 34-7 loss to Minnesota, the Texans faced a setback with multiple untimely penalties. Trailing 14-0, the team was moving towards the red zone when a series of three consecutive false start penalties disrupted the offense and ultimately terminated the drive. Laremy Tunsil, a four-time Pro Bowl left tackle, struggled with six penalties on the day, with five occurring in the first half alone. Among his infractions were three pre-snap penalties and three illegal procedure flags, contributing to a total of 11 penalties for 88 yards for the Texans. Coach DeMeco Ryans emphasized the need for the team to take responsibility for these self-inflicted penalties and commit to playing smart, clean football.

Astros Yordan Alvarez faces knee injury scare


During a crucial game against the Los Angeles Angels, Astros’ Yordan Alvarez had to exit due to a right knee contusion. Alvarez, who was in excellent form after a recent 4-for-4 performance, sustained the injury while sliding into second base after hitting a double. An MRI was scheduled post-game as the Astros aimed to secure victory in a series against the Seattle Mariners to clinch the AL West title.
