Tragedy struck in Pearland, Texas as a 14-year-old boy lost his life after a police chase on Wednesday night. The incident began around 10 p.m. on Highway 288 northbound, with the teenager fleeing from police and ultimately crashing into a concrete barrier.

After crashing, the teen exited the vehicle and attempted to escape by running across multiple lanes of traffic. Unfortunately, his attempt to evade the authorities ended in tragedy as he was struck by a passing driver on the southbound side of 288.

Minutes after the collision, a driver called 911 to report hitting a boy who matched the description of the fleeing suspect. The teenager was rushed to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

As of now, the identity of the teen has not been released, and the reason behind the initial police chase remains unknown.
