The Harris Campaign Shakes Up the DNC With Republican Speakers
The Democratic National Convention on its second day is set to showcase a diverse lineup of speakers, including unexpected voices from the Republican party. While top Democrats like former President Barack Obama will deliver keynote addresses, the stage will also host several Republican leaders offering remarks in Chicago.
Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign has announced that former U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, former Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan, and Mesa, Arizona Mayor John Giles will take the DNC stage. These prominent Republicans, now critics of Trump, will share their insights and perspectives with a diverse audience.
Joining them are former Trump White House staffers Olivia Troye, a national security official, and Stephanie Grisham, a former White House press secretary. Grisham, in particular, has expressed her support for Harris, stating that she believes Harris will defend the nation’s freedoms and uphold its integrity on the global stage.
Grisham’s endorsement of Harris came after witnessing firsthand the impact of the Trump administration, leading her to speak out against the former president. Despite their political differences, Grisham recognizes Harris as a champion for democracy and freedom.
