The Buzz About Shern-Min Chow’s Bee Adventure

When KHOU 11’s Shern-Min Chow discovered a hive of bees in the wall of her garage, she knew she had to take action. Documenting the whole process, she enlisted the help of bee expert Mark Lockhard to safely remove the 48,000 bees that had made her garage their home.

Using thermal imaging, Lockhard located the hive, which spanned from the floor to the ceiling of the garage. With precision and care, he cut holes in the wall and carefully extracted the hive, ensuring that the bees were unharmed in the process. Instead of exterminating them, Lockhard relocated the bees to his own property, giving them a new place to thrive.
