Tragedy strikes in the Coastal Bend as a second baby under 2 years old has died in a hot-car death within 24 hours.

The latest incident involves a 9-month-old baby found in a car in Beeville, Texas, as confirmed by Beeville Police Department Chief Kevin Behr. The heartbreaking discovery was made at about 8:30 a.m. in the 100 block of E. Flournoy. The baby, who was under the care of its grandmother, was left in the car while she went inside her home.

The baby was not discovered until around 4 p.m., Begnr stated, prompting the scene to be treated as a crime scene.

This tragic event comes just a day after a 22-month-old toddler was found dead in a car in Corpus Christi, highlighting the importance of vigilance and awareness when it comes to the safety of children in hot vehicles.
