NEW YORK – Oprah Winfrey’s latest book club pick is set to captivate readers with familiar faces and heartwarming tales.
Renowned literary figure Oprah Winfrey recently announced her selection of “Tell Me Everything,” the latest novel by Pulitzer Prize winner Elizabeth Strout. This marks the second time Winfrey has chosen a book by Strout, known for her acclaimed work, “Olive, Again,” which was previously selected in 2019. In this latest novel, Strout revisits the beloved characters of Crosby, Maine, including the iconic Olive Kitteridge and Lucy Barton, weaving a tapestry of interconnected stories that will resonate with readers.
Winfrey, in a statement, expressed her admiration for Strout’s ability to bring characters to life, saying, “Elizabeth Strout welcomes us home again, back to the small town where we witness the interconnection of all the characters we’ve ever loved in her previous novels. It’s a beautiful read reminding us that there is extraordinary love in ordinary actions.”
Strout’s literary prowess shines through in her bestselling works such as “Olive Kitteridge,” which won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 2009 and was later adapted into an Emmy-winning HBO miniseries starring Frances McDormand. With other notable works like “Amy and Isabelle” and “My Name Is Lucy Barton,” Strout continues to captivate audiences with her poignant storytelling.
Reflecting on Winfrey’s support, Strout expressed her gratitude, stating, “The first time Oprah called me was extraordinary. The second time she called me was absolutely astonishing! Two times she has chosen a book of mine for her book club and I am so humbled that even though I supposedly ‘use words’ there are almost no words I have to say how grateful I am to her. She has done an amazing job to help people of this world discover and read books; to me Oprah is a rock star.”
