Welcome to the NRG Stadium Roof Repair Update!
Exciting news for all Houston sports fans! As Hurricane Beryl wreaked havoc on NRG Stadium’s retractable roof back in July, we now have a progress report on the repairs being made to restore it to its former glory.
With a repair timeline issued last month, Air 11’s aerial views captured the impressive work being done on the damaged panels. It seems that at least one panel has already been repaired, with the second panel well on its way to completion.
NRG Park had initially announced that one panel would be fixed in time for the Texans’ home opener against the Chicago Bears on Sunday at 7:20 p.m. And it looks like the other panel will be fully restored before the Texans face off against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, Sept. 29 at noon – if not sooner!
Despite the roof damage, NRG Stadium has continued to host events, including the Rams and Giants preseason games, as well as a memorable concert by Zach Bryan in July.
Take a look at how the NRG Stadium roof weathered the storm of Hurricane Beryl!
