The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) are shaking things up in 2024! Due to a scheduling conflict with the U.S. presidential debate, the event has been pushed back to September 11th at 8 p.m. Eastern. The star-studded ceremony will take place at the UBS Arena on New York’s Long Island.

Last week, it was confirmed that both Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump will be participating in a debate on September 10th, the original date for the VMAs. As a result, the VMAs had to make a quick change to accommodate this important event.

Despite the scheduling shuffle, excitement for the 2024 VMAs is at an all-time high. Taylor Swift leads the pack with 10 nominations, followed closely by Post Malone. The artist of the year category features fierce competition from Ariana Grande, Bad Bunny, Eminem, Sabrina Carpenter, and SZA.

Swift, who took home nine VMAs last year, is inching closer to Beyoncé’s record of 28 wins. Other top nominees this year include Grande, Carpenter, Eminem, Megan Thee Stallion, SZA, and more.

Fans can vote for their favorites in 15 gender-neutral categories until August 30th. The best new artist category will remain open for voting throughout the show.

The 2024 VMAs promise unforgettable performances from artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, GloRilla, Rauw Alejandro, and Camila Cabello. Don’t miss out on the action-packed evening celebrating the best in music and entertainment!
