Tragic Discovery: Missing Woman Found Dead in Van Zandt County Field
A heartbreaking turn of events unfolded in Van Zandt County as the body of a missing 62-year-old woman, Lisa Adams, was discovered in a field west of Canton near Highway 243 by the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities revealed that Adams had been last seen on September 12, sparking a search effort that unfortunately ended in tragedy when her lifeless body was found. The search around her home had yielded no leads about her whereabouts.
Justice of the Peace Don Ashlock has ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of Adams’ death, shedding light on the mysterious circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
The community’s collaborative efforts in the search for Adams were acknowledged in a heartfelt Facebook post by the sheriff’s office, expressing gratitude to all involved parties, including the Canton, Canton ISD, and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
