Man Narrowly Escapes Getting Killed in Houston Hit-and-Run
Kennard Robinson and his wife are hoping that video footage of a terrifying hit-and-run incident in Houston will help police track down the driver responsible.
The incident occurred on the Beltway feeder road at Little York Road in northwest Houston. The shocking accident was captured on camera.
“I was just happy to be on the way home,” said Kennard Robinson, the victim of the hit-and-run.
Robinson was just two minutes away from home when he stopped at a red light. As he started driving when the light turned green, a semi-truck suddenly crashed into his car.
“He just hit me and cleaned me out,” said Robinson. “All I remember was I passed out.”
His wife Brittany received a call about the accident and was filled with dread. Kennard survived the incident but sustained injuries.
“I’m scared to even go out and drive,” said Kennard. “I’m blessed to be here. My life could have been taken in seconds. I’m thankful I’m still here.”
The couple is now determined to find the driver who fled the scene after hitting Kennard’s car.
“It’s despicable honestly,” said Brittany. “How could someone be going that fast and have no regard for someone’s life? Every time I watch that video, it’s a gut punch.”
Dashcam footage and gas station surveillance tapes are currently the main leads for the Houston Police Department as they investigate the hit-and-run.
Kennard and Brittany are hoping that the video evidence will help law enforcement connect the dots and apprehend the culprit.
“We’re not going to rest until we see this case entirely through,” said Brittany. “To whoever this person is, do the right thing and turn yourself in.”
Despite the ordeal, Kennard is expected to make a full recovery after undergoing some medical tests this week. If you have any information about the hit-and-run accident, please contact the Houston police.
