Justin Timberlake Pleads Guilty to Driving While Impaired in Hamptons

Justin Timberlake made a public safety announcement in front of the Sag Harbor police department, urging drivers not to get behind the wheel of a car after even a single alcoholic drink. This comes shortly after he pleaded guilty to driving while impaired in New York’s Hamptons earlier this year.

The plea deal knocked down the misdemeanor charge he was facing to a non-criminal traffic violation. In addition to a $500 fine and 25 hours of community service, Timberlake was also given a 90-day suspension of his license.

During the court hearing, Timberlake expressed regret for his actions and emphasized the importance of making responsible decisions when it comes to drinking and driving. He shared that he has had time to reflect on his actions and is grateful for the opportunity to use his platform to spread awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence.

Timberlake’s arrest in Sag Harbor occurred after he ran a stop sign, veered out of his lane, and was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Following the incident, he initially pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated.

Despite the reduction in charges, Timberlake acknowledged the seriousness of the offense and promised not to repeat his mistake. His attorney clarified that Timberlake had only consumed one drink in two hours before the arrest, and the plea was consistent with the facts of the case.

Timberlake’s public statement and commitment to raising awareness about the consequences of impaired driving were commended by local authorities and community members. The judge encouraged Timberlake to use his platform to influence others to make safer choices when it comes to alcohol and driving.
