After last Saturday’s season-opening Labor Day Classic, both Texas Southern and Prairie View had to deal with quarterback injuries. Prairie View’s Lucas Coley and TSU’s KJ Cooper both suffered injuries, with Coley expected to miss four to six weeks with a shoulder injury.
Now, Prairie View coach Bubba McDowell is left to choose between Cam Peters and Jaden Johnson to start in their upcoming game against Northwestern State. McDowell expressed confidence in both quarterbacks and their ability to lead the team to victory.
On the other side, TSU had to deal with uncertainty surrounding Cooper’s injury. Despite coach Cris Dishman’s reassurances that Cooper’s injury was minor, backup Jace Wilson had to step in to finish the game.
