Former Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, now a Cleveland Brown, is facing legal troubles in Houston following a recent sex-related lawsuit.

On Wednesday, both sides’ attorneys began a public battle with Watson speaking out for the first time.

“Deshaun strongly denies the allegations in the recent lawsuit,” said Watson’s attorney, Rusty Hardin.

The latest lawsuit accuses Watson of sexual assault and battery from an incident in October 2020, similar to the lawsuits filed in 2021.

Watson was suspended by the NFL for 11 games and settled all but one suit.

In a statement, the accuser’s attorney called this case the most serious and egregious against Watson to date.

Legal analyst Carmen Roe noted that this case is directed solely at Watson, unlike previous lawsuits involving the Texans.

The NFL is reviewing the complaint under its personal conduct policy.

A grand jury in Harris County previously declined to indict Watson on criminal charges.
