Houston sets up cooling centers for Heat Advisory, August 9

Summer heat can be oppressive, especially in places like Houston where the sun beats down relentlessly. In response to a Heat Advisory issued recently, the City of Houston is taking action to ensure the safety and well-being of its residents. They have opened 80 cooling centers around the city for those in need of relief from the scorching temperatures.

If you’re looking for a break from the heat, you can find respite at one of the cooling centers. And if transportation is an issue, don’t worry – the city is offering free rides to the centers. Just call 311 to schedule your ride.
