Tragedy struck on September 15 when Dustin Dorcz was fatally hit by a vehicle in Houston. The driver fled the scene, leaving Dustin’s grieving widow, Lindsey Dorcz, desperate for justice.

Houston police are on the hunt for the hit-and-run driver responsible for the death of Dustin Dorcz. With no official suspect or vehicle description, the incident occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-10 near downtown, where witnesses saw the suspect’s vehicle recklessly swerving through traffic.

Lindsey Dorcz is haunted by the image of the tragic scene that took her husband’s life. “I’ve been in a haze for the last eight days without my husband,” Lindsey shared.

Dustin and Lindsey, residents of Lufkin, were in Houston celebrating their fifth anniversary and Dustin’s birthday. In the early hours of September 15, Dustin, a father of six, was fatally struck while walking on the shoulder of I-10 eastbound.

In the midst of the tragedy, Lindsey is determined to seek justice for her beloved husband. “We’re going to figure it out because this should not happen — lives should not be taken,” she expressed, highlighting the need for safer roads.

As Lindsey grapples with the loss of her husband, she is adamant about advocating for pedestrian safety in Texas. In 2023 alone, 807 pedestrians lost their lives in traffic accidents in the state.

Reflecting on the heartbreaking situation, Lindsey pleads with the perpetrator, “If that person is watching this, maybe God can work on you and you can give my husband the justice he deserves and come clean.”

Despite the pain and uncertainty, Lindsey remains determined to uncover the truth behind her husband’s tragic death. She urges anyone with information to contact HPD’s Hit and Run Unit or Crime Stoppers.
