Unexpected Visitors: Fulshear Officer Removes Alligator from Front Porch

In Fulshear, Texas, a routine day for an officer turned into a scaly surprise when he had to remove an alligator from a resident’s front porch. The small gator may have been petite in size, but its teeth, hissing, and snapping jaws made quite an intimidating sight. However, for Fulshear Police Department Lt. Bill Henry, handling the situation was all in a day’s work.

When asked about the unusual encounter, Lt. Henry recounted that it wasn’t his first alligator call of the day. Earlier that morning, another gator was found in a backyard, hidden in vegetation near a wood fence. Using a pole, they were able to safely relocate that gator. Just a few hours later, a second call came in about a gator perched right at the front door of a residence, with an Amazon package nearby. Lt. Henry, feeling confident after the earlier encounter, took it upon himself to calmly approach and capture the gator.

Both alligators were moved to larger bodies of water, away from residential areas. Lt. Henry mentioned that gator sightings were not uncommon in Fulshear and that they even provide training to police recruits on how to handle such encounters. It seems like a day in the life of a Fulshear police officer is always full of surprises!
