Breaking News: Fort Bend County Judge KP George Indicted
Fort Bend County Judge KP George has been indicted on a single misdemeanor charge of mispresenting identity as a candidate. The warrant obtained by KHOU 11 revealed that George allegedly coordinated with an employee to post racist comments on a fake Facebook account targeting him during his 2022 reelection campaign. The employee, Taral Patel, is also facing similar allegations in his 2024 campaign for county commissioner.
During an investigation by the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office, it was discovered that Patel’s fake account under the name “Antonio Scalywag” posted racist attacks not only against George but also against other officials like Precinct 3 Commissioner Andy Meyers. The investigation revealed that the account used a profile picture taken from a Needville resident without permission.
Further investigation by Investigator Evett Kelly linked the “Antonio Scalywag” account to Patel through email and phone number associations. Phone records also showed conversations between Patel and a contact saved as KP George discussing the press release and screenshots of the racist comments.
