Fatal street racing crash in Grand Prairie, TX claims 4 lives

A tragedy struck Grand Prairie, Texas, on Saturday night as four lives were lost in a devastating car crash. The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. on South Belt Line Road near Kingston Drive, where a Chevy Traverse collided with a red Dodge Charger, resulting in the deaths of four individuals. Three victims lost their lives at the scene, while the fourth passed away at a hospital. A fifth person from the Traverse is currently in critical condition.

According to witnesses, the Charger was speeding and racing another vehicle, a Dodge Charger Daytona, which fled the scene after the crash. The driver of the Charger involved in the collision was identified as Jaime Mesa, 20, of Irving, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Mesa now faces several charges, including racing on a highway causing death, manslaughter, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and racing on a highway causing serious bodily injury.

Police later apprehended the driver of the Charger Daytona, Anthony Morales, 22, who also faces charges related to the fatal crash. More details about the incident have yet to be disclosed by authorities.
