Discover the fascinating story of how Edwin Moses revolutionized the world of hurdling in the 1980s, blending science and athleticism to become the greatest hurdler of his time. His remarkable journey will be showcased in the upcoming documentary, “MOSES-13 Steps”, premiering on Sept. 21 at the prestigious Morehouse College Human Rights Film Festival, his alma mater.

The title of the film, “MOSES-13 Steps”, refers to the unique stride pattern Moses developed, taking 13 steps between hurdles instead of the traditional 14. A master’s degree holder in physics, Moses strategically utilized science to improve his performance, optimizing his stride length and footwork to gain crucial milliseconds in the 400-meter hurdles.

Through a combination of captivating archival footage and insightful interviews, the documentary follows Moses’ journey from his early days to his illustrious career, marked by a staggering 122-race winning streak. In addition to his on-track accomplishments, Moses also used his influence to advocate for fair pay in sports and challenge the doping regulations of the Olympic movement, eventually taking on a prominent role in the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.

Executive producer Morgan Freeman lauds the film, stating, “This film delves into the life of the Olympic 400-meter hurdles champion Edwin Moses. On the track, no one could match him for a decade. Off the track, he left an even greater legacy.”

The premiere of the documentary will be a momentous occasion for Moses, as he is set to receive the Enlightened Lens Documentary Feature Award at the film festival, as well as the inaugural humanitarian award named in his honor, recognizing his exceptional contributions both on and off the track.

Stay tuned for this compelling portrayal of a true sports icon and trailblazer, showcasing the indelible impact of Edwin Moses on the world of athletics.
