Exciting News from New York!
The Directors Guild of America is gearing up to honor legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola at its upcoming 25th DGA Honors event in October.
The ceremony is set to take place on October 17 at the prestigious DGA Theater in New York, marking the first such event for the guild since 2018.
At 85, Coppola has a long and distinguished career in film, earning multiple nominations from the DGA and winning the award for outstanding directorial achievement twice for his work on “The Godfather” and its sequel.
His latest project, “Megalopolis,” is generating buzz as it hits theaters on September 27 after premiering at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.
In addition to Coppola, the DGA will also honor Susan Zirinsky, Tony and Gina Argento of Broadway Stages, and the arthouse film company Criterion at the event.
DGA President Lesli Linka Glatter expressed her pride in celebrating the achievements of these visionary storytellers who have made a significant impact on American culture through their contributions to the film and television industry.
