YOUNTVILLE, Calif. – The world of “Dancing With the Stars” was rocked with news that pro dancer Artem Chigvintsev was arrested and booked on a domestic violence charge in northern California, according to the local sheriff’s office.
Napa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic violence call in Yountville, where it was apparent that there were signs of abuse. Chigvintsev was taken into custody, as reported by sheriff’s office spokesperson Henry Wofford.
Although Chigvintsev cooperated with the deputies, he was charged with felony domestic violence – an offense that is not taken lightly and only pursued when there is substantial evidence of abuse. The investigation is ongoing, and no details about the alleged victim or their relationship to Chigvintsev have been disclosed.
Following the arrest, Chigvintsev was released on $25,000 bail. Representatives for Chigvintsev have yet to comment on the situation, and it remains unclear whether he has legal representation at this time.
