Get Ready for Glamour and Excitement at the 81st Venice Film Festival

The 81st edition of the Venice Film Festival is set to begin with a grand premiere of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” that promises Hollywood glamour and star-studded appearances. Celebrities such as Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Jenna Ortega, Catherine O’Hara, and Monica Bellucci are expected to grace the red carpet for the world premiere.

“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is a sequel to the iconic 1988 horror-comedy by Tim Burton, bringing back the beloved Deetz family to their country home after a tragic event. The film follows Lydia, played by Winona Ryder, who is now a mother to a rebellious teenage daughter named Astrid, portrayed by Jenna Ortega. Astrid discovers the old model city in the attic, leading to an encounter with Keaton’s mischievous ghoul.

The Warner Bros. release, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” will premiere out of competition before its theatrical release worldwide. The festival promises a vibrant atmosphere on the Lido, the barrier island across the Venetian lagoon, where it has been held since 1932.

Throughout the event, audiences can look forward to the return of stars like George Clooney and Brad Pitt. Films such as “Wolfs” and Kevin Costner’s “Horizon: An American Saga—Chapter 2” will be showcased before the exciting awards ceremony on Sept. 7.

Some of the major films competing for the Golden Lion include Todd Phillips’ “Joker: Folie à Deux” with Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix, Pablo Larraín’s “Maria” starring Angelina Jolie, and Pedro Almodóvar’s “The Room Next Door” featuring Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton.
