Former Texas City Commissioner Dee Ann Haney Faces Legal Trouble Again
The Galveston County District Attorney’s Office has taken action against Dee Ann Haney by filing motions to revoke her probation. Haney, a former Texas City commissioner, was recently arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated, leading to her being handcuffed and taken to the Galveston County Jail.
This incident comes after Haney’s conviction on two counts of criminally negligent homicide last year, for which she received a 10-year community supervision sentence. In 2017, she was indicted for manslaughter in connection with a tragic accident that resulted in the deaths of Hong Phuc Le and Duoc Van Le.
According to officials, Haney was driving on the shoulder of I-45 near the Galveston Causeway at an unsafe speed when she crashed into the father and son who were standing outside their truck. She admitted to consuming Metaxalone, Zolpidem, and Pseudoephedrine before the crash, as well as smoking marijuana.
The Galveston County District Attorney’s Office has now moved to revoke Haney’s probation in light of these recent developments. The legal proceedings against her continue as she faces the consequences of her actions.
