Two Teens Caught on Dash Cam Stealing iPhone 16s in Houston

Deer Park Police have uncovered a brazen theft scheme involving two teens who flew in from out of state to steal brand new iPhone 16s from people’s porches. What’s even more astonishing is that the alleged thieves used a rental car without realizing that the car’s dash camera was recording their every move.

David Dye and Iyanna Perry are now facing theft charges after flying to Houston to intercept new iPhone 16s as soon as they were delivered to AT&T customers. Their entire escapade was captured on camera as they followed FedEx drivers on delivery runs, strategically targeting specific houses with tracking numbers in hand.

Thanks to the dash cam footage, police were able to connect the dots and arrest Dye and Perry. Inside their rental car, authorities found four stolen iPhone 16s, raising questions about how these teens from Detroit obtained customer delivery tracking information in the Houston area.

Desmond Garrick, owner of Ride Away Rentals, where the suspects rented their cars, expressed shock at the situation, believing there may be more individuals involved in this elaborate operation. Deer Park PD is currently working with AT&T’s Fraud Global Department to determine how customer tracking information ended up in the wrong hands.

This daring theft has left many residents feeling violated and concerned about the security of their deliveries. As the investigation continues, it’s clear that this incident may be just the tip of the iceberg in a larger criminal operation targeting valuable deliveries.

Stay tuned for updates as more details emerge about this shocking heist.
