The Heartwarming Story of Maria Sendejo and Her Family Home

Imagine living in a home that has been in your family for 93 years. This is the reality for Maria Sendejo, whose father purchased their East End home almost a century ago. Maria dedicated years to taking care of her father in this cherished home, and after his passing, she inherited it.

However, after a lifetime of caring for others and providing shelter to those in need, Maria found herself in need of some assistance to repair her beloved home. That’s when Rebuilding Together Houston stepped in to help.

Rebuilding Together Houston is an organization that specializes in hazardous home repair and rebuilds around 200 homes in the community every year. They generously provided thousands of dollars worth of repair work at absolutely no cost to Maria Sendejo.

They fixed electrical and plumbing issues, repaired flooring, and even put a new roof on the home. Additionally, they partnered with Reliant Energy to bring volunteers to revitalize the home’s curb appeal.

Surprisingly, members of the Houston Texans, including Torro, players, and cheerleaders, also showed up to lend a helping hand. Henry To’oTo’o of the Texans emphasized the importance of community and unity in supporting one another.

Not only did the Texans and volunteers work on the home, but around 20 members of Maria Sendejo’s own family also joined in the effort to show their love and appreciation for the matriarch of their family.

The result was a beautifully renovated home and a heartwarming moment that will be cherished by Maria and her family for years to come. The smiles on their faces spoke volumes about the love and gratitude they felt towards those who came together to support them.

This story is a reminder of the power of community and the impact that a group of caring individuals can have on someone’s life. It’s a testament to the beauty of coming together to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Let’s continue to support and uplift each other, just like Rebuilding Together Houston, the Houston Texans, and Maria Sendejo’s family did. Together, we can create a world where kindness and compassion reign supreme.
