Welcome to our latest blog post where we dive into the tragic case of Karen Miles, whose skeletal remains were discovered last week behind a church in a densely wooded area in Missouri City.

The connection between Karen Miles and Davante Clark, the man charged with her murder, has come to light through court documents obtained by KHOU 11 News. The 61-year-old woman, who had been missing since August 22, was identified from the remains found in Missouri City.

The discovery was made on Monday, September 9, in a heavily wooded area near Blue Ridge Road and Highway 90. An autopsy confirmed that Miles had been shot to death.

Clark, 28, was arrested a few days after Miles went missing when he was found driving her vehicle, which had been reported stolen from the Missouri City apartment complex where she lived. His initial arrest was for driving a stolen car from Arkansas, but further investigation revealed the true nature of his crimes.

Despite Miles’ family being unaware of any connection to Clark, his girlfriend provided crucial information to detectives during interviews. She revealed that they had been living in Missouri City, homeless and frequently parked at the apartment complex where Miles resided.

According to the girlfriend, Clark left in her vehicle on the morning of August 22 and returned later. Detectives were able to track their movements through license plate readers to where Miles’ remains were later found.

Miles’ family expressed disbelief at the senseless act of violence, stating that if Clark had wanted the car, he could have simply asked for it without resorting to murder.

As they await justice, the family members are determined to come face-to-face with Clark in court to confront him about his heinous actions. They described the ordeal as unimaginable and emphasized the need for accountability for the beautiful soul they lost.

Not only is Clark connected to Miles’ case, but he is also a person of interest in two stolen vehicle cases involving missing persons, according to Texas EquuSearch. The family of Destin Henderson, missing since October 2023, has long suspected Clark’s involvement in his disappearance.

Clark’s criminal history includes charges of evading arrest and unauthorized use of a vehicle, further highlighting his troubled past. The family of a missing person linked to Clark expressed their suspicions based on the connection between the two individuals.

This tragic case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that lurk in our communities and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable for their actions. Stay tuned for more updates as the investigation unfolds.
