When he pulled over a DoorDash driver with multiple warrants on their way to make a delivery, he could have simply taken the driver into custody and left it at that. However, Officer Bridges decided to make a detour from his normal route.
A Ring camera captured the moment when Officer Bridges arrived at a Beaumont resident’s home, holding the resident’s DoorDash order. The homeowner’s surprise was evident as she exclaimed, “What’s a policeman doing with my food?” Officer Bridges explained that while the driver was in trouble, she was not, and he wanted to ensure that her order was delivered.
The Beaumont Police Department took to Facebook to commend Officer Bridges for his act of kindness, stating, “Beaumont Police Department delivers – literally!” The heartwarming story quickly gained traction on social media, showcasing the positive impact an officer’s compassion can have on a community.
