David Letterman Faces Audition as a Juror in Cryptocurrency Fraud Trial

New York: The longtime host of “The Late Show with David Letterman” found himself in an unusual position when he appeared in a New York City federal court for a jury selection process in a cryptocurrency fraud trial.

Hosted by Judge P. Kevin Castel, the selection process had the famous comedian, known in court as “Juror 16,” answering questions alongside three dozen other candidates to potentially serve on a jury panel of 12 plus four alternates for a trial expected to last less than two weeks.

As Letterman reached the final round of the selection process, he humorously responded to the judge’s questions, displaying his wit and humor. Despite being promptly removed from the jury panel just before the swearing-in ceremony, the courtroom was entertained by the unexpected appearance of the iconic TV host.

During the questioning, it was revealed that Letterman currently works for Netflix, enjoys watching sports, particularly football and motor sports, and has a penchant for outdoor activities like fishing and skiing. His charming interactions with the judge and lawyers offered a glimpse into his personal life and interests.

Despite not making it to the jury panel, Letterman’s presence added a unique and humorous element to the courtroom proceedings, showcasing his quick wit and engaging personality in an unexpected setting.

While we may not see David Letterman as a member of a jury panel anytime soon, his comedic charm and lively presence certainly made for an entertaining courtroom episode.
