The Texans take on the Bears with the Roof Open at NRG Stadium
Excitement is building as the Houston Texans prepare to face off against the Chicago Bears in Week 2 of the NFL season. The game is scheduled to be played in primetime, with C.J. Stroud and No. 1 pick Caleb Williams sharing the national stage.
The Texans made an announcement on Friday that the roof of NRG Stadium will be open for the game, which kicks off at 7:20 p.m. This decision sets the stage for a thrilling Sunday night showdown.
Both teams are coming off strong performances in their season openers. The Texans secured a 29-27 road win against the Colts, while the Bears held their ground at home and defeated the Tennessee Titans 24-17.
It’s worth noting that the last time the Texans played a home game with the roof open at NRG Stadium was in 2021, resulting in a loss to the Seattle Seahawks. NRG Stadium holds the distinction of being the first NFL stadium to feature a retractable roof.
Despite facing challenges such as damage caused by Hurricane Beryl, NRG Stadium continues to be a hub for exciting events. The stadium management is diligently working to repair the damaged roof panels, with plans to have them fully functional before upcoming games.
NRG Stadium has already successfully hosted events like preseason games, a Zach Bryan concert, and is now gearing up to welcome the Texans as they take on the Bears under the open roof.
Stay tuned for an electrifying matchup under the stars at NRG Stadium!
