Jose Altuve Leaves Game Due to Injury
Jose Altuve, the Astros slugging second baseman, left the game against Oakland due to discomfort on his right side after swinging at a pitch in the fifth inning.
Altuve expressed that he wasn’t too concerned after the game and hoped he would feel better the next day. However, it seems the discomfort persisted as he was absent from the lineup for the following game.
For the season, Altuve has been performing well with a batting average of .302, 19 home runs, and 62 RBIs. Unfortunately, the Astros received more bad news as outfielder Chas McCormick was diagnosed with a small fracture in his right hand, requiring him to be placed on the 10-day injured list.
Houston currently maintains a 3.5-game lead over the Seattle Mariners in the American League West.
