The Creative Arts Emmys: “Shogun” Dominates with 11 Wins

LOS ANGELES – The highly acclaimed series “Shogun” emerged victorious at the Creative Arts Emmys, taking home an impressive 11 awards. The show’s success was a result of its 25 nominations across the creative arts ceremony and the upcoming Primetime Emmy Awards.

“Shogun,” a captivating FX series set in feudal Japan, secured wins in various categories including costumes, makeup, editing, and stunt work. Néstor Carbonell also received the Best Guest Actor in a Drama Emmy for his role in the show.

As Carbonell graciously accepted his award, he expressed gratitude towards the dedicated crew members, highlighting the collective effort behind the show’s success. The overwhelming presence of the crew at the ceremony was a testament to their shared achievement.

With its widespread critical acclaim and audience appeal, the impressive performance of “Shogun” at the Creative Arts Emmys sets the stage for a potentially monumental night at the main Emmy Awards ceremony.

Apart from “Shogun,” another standout performer was “The Bear,” which secured four wins in the comedy categories. Notable wins included Best Guest Actor for Jon Bernthal and Best Guest Actress for Jamie Lee Curtis.

Additionally, Michaela Coel was recognized for Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”

The Creative Arts Emmys celebrated scripted work on Sunday night, while Saturday night focused on reality and variety television programming.

Notable winners from Saturday included Maya Rudolph and Angela Bassett, with Rudolph earning her sixth Emmy for voice-over work on “Big Mouth” and Bassett winning her first for narrating “Queens” documentary series.

The entirety of both nights will be condensed into a 2.5-hour broadcast on FXX and Hulu for audiences to enjoy.
