Karen Miles, a Beloved Community Member and Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Volunteer, Has Been Missing for Over Two Weeks
It has been more than two weeks since Karen Miles was last seen by her family and friends, missing since August 22, 2024. The 61-year-old is an integral part of the Houston community, particularly known for her involvement in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s Black Heritage Committee.
Wendy Lewis Armstrong, a close acquaintance of Miles, described her as someone who truly loves the rodeo and has a particular passion for the Black Heritage Committee. The two have worked alongside each other for nine years, with Armstrong praising Miles for her energy, enthusiasm, and dedication to making a difference.
Armstrong shared a heartwarming story about Miles showing up fully prepared and eager to educate children on agricultural matters at a scholarship presentation. The news of Miles’ disappearance has left Armstrong and other members of the community shocked and saddened.
Despite the challenging circumstances, Armstrong and the rest of the committee are staying strong, hoping for Karen’s safe return. They have been supporting each other during this difficult time and plan to honor Karen by wearing her favorite color, red, at their next meeting.
If you have any information about Karen Miles’ whereabouts, please contact the Missouri City Police Department. Let’s come together as a community to bring her home.
