Former Oilers teammates, Dishman and Prairie View A&M Head Coach Bubba McDowell, faced off in a thrilling match that saw Dishman’s Tigers emerge victorious. The win not only set the tone for the season but also showcased the camaraderie and competitive spirit between the two NFL veterans.
Junior wide receiver Trenton Leary expressed the team’s elation, stating, “Just coming out, getting that first win under our belts, getting the feeling like now y’all believe.”
With the trophy in hand, Dishman and TSU proudly brought the Durley-Nicks Traveling Trophy back to Third Ward, setting their sights on a winning season for the first time since 2000. Dishman emphasized the significance of the victory, acknowledging its importance to players, alumni, staff, and the entire TSU community.
