A family’s moving day turned into a tragedy when a mother accidentally ran over her own daughter with a U-Haul truck in San Antonio. The incident occurred in the 200 block of Remount Drive on Friday evening, resulting in the daughter’s untimely death.
According to reports, the family was in the process of moving into a new house when the accident happened. They had rented a U-Haul truck to transport their furniture to the new residence.
Tragedy struck when the 25-year-old daughter asked her mother to move the truck forward so she could access the loading ramp. Unfortunately, the mother mistakenly put the truck in reverse instead of drive, and in a tragic mix-up, pressed the accelerator instead of the brake.
Despite efforts to help guide her mother, the daughter ended up being run over by the U-Haul truck. She was quickly rushed to the hospital, but sadly, she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Authorities have confirmed that no criminal charges will be filed in connection with this heartbreaking accident. It serves as a reminder of the importance of taking precautions and double-checking safety measures, especially in high-stress situations like moving day.
