Exciting News: Houston’s Hermann Park Gets New Electric Locomotives

Big changes are happening at Houston’s iconic Hermann Park with the introduction of two brand new electric locomotives! The park’s beloved railroad, which has been a staple for nearly 70 years, now boasts the impressive ExxonMobil Express and the Dr. Jack Express, generously gifted by ExxonMobil and the John P. McGovern Foundation.

The Hermann Park Conservancy shared this exciting news on Friday, along with stunning photos of the new locomotives. Visitors can now enjoy free rides on these sleek trains through Friday, Sept. 6.

Since taking over train operations in 2008, the Hermann Park Conservancy has welcomed over five million riders aboard the locomotives, generating over $1.2 million each year to support the preservation and enhancement of Hermann Park.
