Mother seeks justice for murdered daughter, Muna Pandey
It’s a heart-wrenching story that has captured the attention of many. Muna Pandey, a bright Nepali student, was tragically shot dead in the United States. Her mother, Anita Pandey, is now seeking the maximum punishment for Bobby Shah, the man charged with capital murder in her daughter’s death.
Anita Pandey spoke of her daughter in an emotional interview, recounting how she had escaped an abusive relationship with Muna’s father and worked hard to send her to America for a better life and education. “I had such high hopes for Muna; she was so bright,” Anita told the Kathmandu Post.
Friends are rallying around Anita, starting a GoFundMe to bring her to Houston to support her during this difficult time. Muna had been supporting herself and her mother, working tirelessly while taking college classes to secure a better future.
Her manager, who considered himself a big brother to Muna, shared how they had discussed her dreams and aspirations. On the fateful night of Muna’s death, he knew something was wrong when she failed to respond to his messages after leaving work.
Surveillance footage captured Bobby Shah leaving Muna’s apartment less than two hours after she left work. He is accused of shooting her four times, including once in the back of the head. The victim’s mother is adamant about seeking justice for her daughter. “The killer must be brought to justice,” Anita emphasized.
Court records reveal that Shah frequented a Nepali restaurant where Muna once worked, leading to the belief that they had crossed paths there. Shah is facing capital murder charges and is set to appear in court next Tuesday.
As the community mourns the loss of Muna Pandey, Anita’s call for justice reverberates through the hearts of all who knew her daughter.
