Child found wandering in NW Harris County, TX

Yesterday, in northwest Harris County, a heartwarming and concerning incident unfolded. A young child, believed to be around three years old, was found wandering alone in the middle of the street. Thanks to the quick actions of the community and Harris County authorities, the child was safely reunited with her family, who were located at a nearby apartment complex.

The incident occurred in a neighborhood in the Cypress area, just north of FM 1960 and east of the Northwest Freeway. The child was found on Barwood Bend Drive, near Cypress North Houston Road.

Harris County Constable Mark Herman described the child as wearing a flower dress and having her hair styled in a bun. The sight of a young child alone on a busy street is undoubtedly distressing, but thanks to the cooperation of the community, a potentially tragic situation was averted.

As a community, we must remain vigilant and ready to lend a helping hand when needed. The safety and well-being of our children are paramount, and incidents like these serve as a reminder of the importance of looking out for one another.
