NEW YORK – Swedish supergroup ABBA has recently discovered the unauthorized use of their music at a Trump event and has requested the removal and deletion of such content. However, the Trump campaign claims to have obtained a license to use ABBA’s music.

ABBA, known for hits like “Waterloo,” “The Winner Takes It All,” and “Money, Money, Money,” joins a long list of performers who’ve objected to Trump using their songs for his campaigns.

Other artists like Celine Dion and Beyoncé have also asked Trump to stop using their songs in campaign materials. In the past, Adele had to request Trump to cease playing her music at political rallies.

Despite these objections, campaigns can legally play artists’ songs at rallies if they have obtained a blanket license from performing rights organizations like ASCAP and BMI.

Swedish daily newspaper Svenska Dagbladet reported that ABBA’s music was played at a Trump rally in Minnesota, sparking the band’s request for its removal from campaign events. ABBA, with numerous Billboard Hot 100 hits, made a comeback in 2021 with their album “Voyage.”
