Witness one of the most remarkable catches in baseball as Mauricio Dubón of the Astros makes a jaw-dropping play in left field. However, this stunning display of athleticism came at a cost as Dubón collided with the Camden Yards wall.
This incredible play unfolded during the seventh inning of the Astros’ game against the Baltimore Orioles, a game that the Astros would go on to win 6-3.
With the Astros leading 5-3 and two outs, Ramón Urías of the Orioles hit a ball down the left field line. Dubón, positioned 130 feet away, embarked on a full sprint towards the ball on a collision course with the wall.
Catching the ball at full speed, Dubón’s momentum carried him into the wall, showcasing his unwavering commitment to make the play.
Despite the impact, Dubón showed resilience as he was able to walk off the field with the help of trainers, although he was subsequently subbed out of the game.
Astros manager Joe Espada reassured fans that Dubón was fine, but expected to feel soreness due to the intensity of the collision with the wall.
