In an interview with WFAA on Inside Texas Politics, Cruz emphasized his commitment to prioritizing job creation in the Senate. He highlighted Texas’ reputation as a business-friendly state with low taxes and reasonable regulations, attracting companies like Google to invest billions in the state, leading to the creation of more jobs.
As the ranking member of the Senate Committee for Commerce, Science, and Transportation, Cruz stressed the importance of maintaining a pro-business environment to support Texas jobs. He pointed out the significant impact he could have as the committee’s chair if the GOP regains control of the Senate.
Comparing his record to that of his opponent, Democratic Congressman Colin Allred, Cruz highlighted his legislative achievements, citing bipartisan support for the numerous bills he has authored and passed during his time in Congress.
According to GovTrac.us, which tracks legislative activity, Cruz has been the primary sponsor of several bills that have been enacted, demonstrating his effectiveness in advancing legislation. He reiterated his stance on abortion, advocating for states’ rights in deciding such matters and supporting legislation to protect in vitro fertilization.
When discussing immigration and border security, Cruz criticized President Biden’s policies, citing the challenges faced by Texas due to illegal immigration. While acknowledging recent declines in illegal crossings, Cruz emphasized the need for stricter enforcement measures to address the issue effectively.
As Cruz continues his campaign for re-election, he remains focused on delivering results for the people of Texas and upholding his conservative principles. With a track record of legislative accomplishments and a clear vision for the future, Cruz aims to secure another term in the Senate to further his agenda and serve the interests of his constituents.
