Erica Lee Carter Announces Candidacy to Finish Mother’s Term in Congress
Erica Lee Carter, daughter of the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, has officially declared her intention to run for the opportunity to complete her mother’s 118th U.S. Congressional term, which concludes on January 3, 2025.
“Having witnessed my mother’s unwavering dedication to public service and legislative expertise first-hand, I am humbled by the outpouring of support and encouragement I have received to continue her legacy,” said Lee Carter. “After much contemplation, I have decided to step up and run in the Nov. 5 Special Election to serve the people of the 18th Congressional District.”
