It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the legendary Houston attorney, Mike DeGeurin. Mike succumbed to complications from a heart condition, as confirmed by his brother, Dick DeGeurin.
Having made a significant impact in the legal world, Mike DeGeurin’s legacy will forever be remembered. One of his most notable achievements was successfully exonerating Clarence Brandley, who wrongly spent 10 years on death row in Texas.
Together with his brother Dick, Mike also defended Renard Spivey in a high-profile case where Spivey, a TV bailiff, was accused of his wife’s murder. Their successful defense resulted in Spivey’s acquittal.
Mike DeGeurin, aged 79, leaves behind a remarkable career and a lasting impact on the legal community. Funeral arrangements are currently underway.
