Stay Cool: Find a Cooling Center Near You in Houston Area

As temperatures and heat indexes continue to rise after Hurricane Beryl, the National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for most of the Houston area. To help residents beat the extreme heat, the city of Houston, Harris County precincts, and local non-profits are opening cooling centers across the region.

Galveston Cooling Center

The city is operating a cooling center at McGuire Dent Recreation Center, 2222 28th Street. Showers are also available for public use.

Liberty County Cooling Center

The Santa Fe Administration building located at 1680 Road 3549 in Cleveland, TX is open as a cooling center from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
