Brave Act of Heroism Ends in Tragedy

Police have identified the man who tragically drowned while trying to rescue a teenage girl as Lincer Lopez. What makes this heartbreaking incident even more poignant is the fact that Lincer had just been baptized moments before his heroic act.

Details of the Incident

The incident occurred at Lake Waxahachie in Texas on a Saturday afternoon. As per the Waxahachie Police Department, emergency services were called to Boat Dock Park at the lake following reports of a drowning. Upon arriving at the scene, it was discovered that Lincer Lopez had drowned while attempting to save the teenage girl in distress.

Lincer’s family revealed that he had been at the lake for his baptism. After the ceremony, while enjoying the water, a member of their church group got into trouble. Lincer selflessly rushed to her aid, but tragically lost his life in the process.

A Hero Remembered

Lincer’s uncle, Jacobo Lopez, described his nephew as a hero who didn’t hesitate to risk his own life to save another. Other witnesses, like Jacob Bell, who performed CPR on the rescued girl, also spoke of Lincer’s selfless bravery.

Despite the tragedy, Lincer’s family is proud of his actions. They remember him as a hardworking individual who supported his siblings in Mexico through his construction job. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family repatriate Lincer’s body to Mexico.
